Challenge

Established in 1814, Luget's Gentlemen's Outfitters wanted to start selling designer clothing online, as well as continue to source customers for their bespoke tailoring services in Devon.

Retail ecommerce can be a real challenge because often many other ecommerce websites are selling exactly the same thing and the opportunities for differentiation are that much tighter. So we were briefed to come up with a design for OpenCart ecommerce which would equal national competitors as well as set Lugets apart as a desirable lifestyle brand.

The website needed to tie in with their store-based EPOS system as well as ensure correct stock levels throughout the system.

Solution

A classic sophisticated design that could play at a national level with large competitors was essential. With advice on photography and eccentric and quirky product copywriting, we built a site with a clean sophisticated look, but still with bags of character.

The search engine optimisation took well for this project and within a month of launch the website started ranking in search engines for hundreds of specific long tail search phrases for which it had never ranked before.
